Dante 'Vita Nuova' & Lancelog Andrewes Sermon on Ash-Wednesday are generative seed for T.S. Eliot's poem

i read two guide books on 'selected poems of T.S. Eliot' and liked B.C.Southam's better. I'm also taking class on Dante's Purgatorio. I love our instructor Jean Hollander's voice although she thinks low of me to skip Dante's Inferno and take a shortcut directly to Purgatorio. I only read briefly Robert Pinsky's new translation of Dante's inferno. Dante put a Catholic Pope in Hell and get away with it. Imagine that! I'll email you more of my scribed notes from books.
