| 'Mami, do you understand darkness?' |

I prayed to Mary through tears
that holy mother shall ease Greg's breathing
and get him to fall in sleep.
Prayers do hold power
Now He is asleep, oh so sweet
'tis in Mother Mary's divine protection.
'Mami, do you understand darkness'
a question addressed to me out of blue
from a four-year-old little wonder
of my stressed and stretched universe.
oh dear child, infatuated with
his flashlight for more than a couple of days
Also without complains,
takes in mami's raging temperment at times
returns with his tears, hugs and kisses
as natural as a sunny day
chasing after a night's rain.
Darkness comes and darkness goes
Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso.
In the beginning is the Word.
And GOD is with the Word.
In the end, this Universe stands alone
In between, life is not what you think or be told
but how you live, before and after you receive the Word.
'Mami, do you understand darkness'
YES, I DO.
Because through me, you come to this world
you are mine but not mine
I must be brave to let you be
a messenger from that divine place
a sacrifice to God's grace.
Hail Mary, full of grace
God is with Thee
Blessed are thee among women,
Blessed is thy womb, baby Jesus.
